Set in the heart of elegant Bloomsbury, the Garth Hotel is only a few minutes walk from The British Museum and within easy walking distance of Oxford Street and Covent Garden for shopping, Soho for Chinese food and Theatreland. Also nearby are Trafalgar Square and the National Art Gallery, as is Regent's Park with London Zoo. Other famous landmarks such as the London Eye, St. Pauls Cathedral, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace are easily reached via public transport or leisurely walking. There are many museums and art galleries nearby and within a short bus ride are Sotheby's and Christies, the famous auctioneers. The hotel itself, is a small, privately owned hotel in Bloomsbury, the district of Central London famous as the home of 'The Bloomsbury Set', a group of authors that included Virginia Wolf and E. M. Forster. Built around 1800, the building is a Grade II listed Georgian town house of historical interest. It was the birthplace in 1839 of William De Morgan, the famous potter. We pride ourselves on the warm and friendly atmosphere at The Garth, and have established a reputation for our hospitality, which has brought back the same guests year after year. The rooms and public areas are decorated with numerous paintings, photographs and prints to create an art gallery effect. The 18 bedrooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. Included in the price is full English breakfast and a choice of breakfast cereals and preserves.

Euston Station - Road: WALKING. Exit Euston station and walk to the busy main Euston Road. Cross Euston Road and bear to your right. Walk a short distance until you reach Euston Square Underground station then turn left into Gower Street. Follow the traffic flow and walk for 5 minutes. The Garth Hotel is past the Waterstones' bookshop but on the other side of the road at number 69 Gower Street. Total time around 10 minutes. You can walk from Kings Cross or St Pancras stations to Euston station in around 5 minutes.Heathrow Airport - Underground: Take the underground train (the Tube) from terminal 1, 2, 3 or 4 at Heathrow. This underground line is the Piccadilly line and you can travel direct to Russell Square underground station (around 10 minutes walk from The Garth Hotel) in 57 minutes. Alternatively, you may prefer to change from the Piccadilly line to the Northern line at Leicester Square station and travel northbound for 2 stops to Goodge Street station, which is less than 5 minutes walk via Chenies Street, from the Garth Hotel.Gatwick Airport - Train: Take a First Capital Connect' train from Gatwick airport to St Pancras International Station. The journey time 30-45 minutes and there are 4 trains per hour. Then take a short walk to Kings Cross underground station and catch an underground train (Circle, Metropolitan or District line) to Euston Square Underground station. Leave Euston Square station via the Gower Street' exit. Follow the traffic flow and walk for 5 minutes. The Garth Hotel is past Waterstone's bookshop, on the other side.Luton Airport - Train: Take the train from Luton Airport Parkway' station to Kings Cross Thameslink' station. This Bedford to Brighton service takes around 30 minutes. From Kings Cross Thameslink' station you can walk through a tunnel to Kings Cross underground station. At Kings Cross station catch an Underground train 'Westbound' (Hammersmith and City, Circle or Metropolitan lines) to Euston Square underground station. Leave Euston Square station via the Gower Street' exit. Follow the traffic flow for 5 minutes.Stanstead Airport - Train: There is a 'Stansted Express' train service from Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street station departing every 15 minutes up until 12:30am (0030 hours) with a journey time of around 45 minutes. From Liverpool Street Station take an Underground train 'westbound' (Hammersmith and City, Circle or Metropolitan lines) to Euston Square underground station. Take the exit marked Gower Street and walk down the road for around 5 minutes. We are just past Waterstone's bookshop, on the opposite side.
